100% Verdejo
Wine from La Tierra de Castilla
HARVEST: Low rainfall and high temperatures during the last ripening phase of the grape, which in contract to forecasts, delayed the start of the harvest thanks to the huge temperature range and led to a slow ripening which resulted in good acidity and fruit.
VITICULTURE: Sourced from a block of Verdejo in the single estate vineyard site – Finca Los Cruces – that was planted in 1994. These were the first Verdejo vines planted in the region.
The globet trained vines are managed with traditional dry farmed viticulture with minimal intervention and are harvested by hand.
WINEMAKING: Late harvest from the first half of September.
Fermentation controlled at a temperature of 15 degrees, clean musts in stainless steel vats. At every stage of production great care is taken to maintain the freshness and acidity for which the Verdejo is known
TASTING NOTES: Yellow with green reflections. Aromas of white flowers, stone fruit and aromatic herbs. Very fresh with good acidity, fruity and balanced.
